Studio After D Day
Panoramic view of the bay of Arromanches-les-Bains at low tide, with the village, the cliffs and the remains of the Mulberry artificial harbour offshore

Arromanches-les-Bains

Steps from the sea, a step into history

A charming studio in the heart of Arromanches-les-Bains, between the beach, the remains of the Mulberry harbour and the Gold Beach cliffs.

The studio

A true extension of our home

Our studio is not just a place to pass through. Teal walls, old wooden floors, a period fireplace and seaside light: we love welcoming travellers who want to experience Arromanches-les-Bains authentically, far from standardised hotels. The freedom of a private rental, the care of a family home.

Around the house

The best of Arromanches on foot

The studio sits in the centre of the village, a few minutes' walk from the beach, the D-Day Museum and the cliff paths. Park the car — you will hardly need it.

  1. 200 m away

    Arromanches beach

Fine sand, remains of the artificial harbour visible at low tide and supervised swimming in summer. The view changes with every tide.

  2. 300 m away

    D-Day Museum

Facing the sea, it tells the incredible story of the Mulberry artificial harbour built in a few days after 6 June 1944.

  3. 700 m away

    Arromanches 360

A circular cinema set on the cliff: 19 minutes of archive footage projected in 360°, a striking immersion in the 100 days of the Battle of Normandy.

  4. from the village

    Cliffs and coastal path

The GR223 runs west to Longues-sur-Mer and east to Courseulles: panoramas over the bay, bunkers and endless meadows.

  5. 6 km away

    Longues-sur-Mer battery

The only German battery to have kept its original guns, between fields and cliffs. Free access and a superb view over the Channel.

  6. 10 km away

    Bayeux

Its thousand-year-old tapestry, its cathedral and its medieval streets spared by the war. The perfect half-day trip.

  7. 12 km away

    Juno Beach and Courseulles

The Juno Beach Centre tells the story of the Canadian engagement, and the harbour of Courseulles delights with its oysters and fish market.

  8. 150 m away

    Seafront restaurants

Moules-frites facing the harbour remains, crêperies and brasseries: the whole seafront is a five-minute walk.

  9. 30 km away

    Pointe du Hoc

The cliff scaled by the US Rangers on 6 June 1944, still pitted with bomb craters. One of the most striking D-Day sites.

  10. 9 km away

    Port-en-Bessin

Normandy's leading scallop fishing port: fish auction, lively quays and fishmongers to bring dinner back to the studio.

  11. 22 km away

    American cemetery and Omaha Beach

At Colleville-sur-Mer, 9,387 graves face the sea above the immense Omaha beach. A deeply moving place of remembrance.

  12. 35 km away

    Caen Memorial

The great museum of the Second World War and of peace: the ideal complement to a stay on the D-Day beaches.
